With its recent announcement of the iPhone 5, Apple made national headlines by selling over two million new phones in less than 24 hours. But while the iPhone 5 has already become the fastest-selling iPhone ever, it still remains an expensive piece of technology. Most people don’t have a few hundred pounds lying around to spend on a phone, let alone cover their monthly phone bill. Fortunately, there are phones available that provide good call quality and battery life without breaking the bank.

- Sagem my150X. Found typically between £10 and £20, the Sagem my150X is a slim phone that offers crisp and clear call quality. Although it doesn’t come with many frills, including a camera or browser, this phone is easy to use and looks better than most phones that are 10 times its price.
- Nokia 2330 Classic. If you’re looking for a cheap phone with extra features, the Nokia 2330 Classic may be just what you’re looking for. It comes with a music player and radio, in addition to a simple VGA-resolution camera. And despite the extra features, it’s still affordable at around £30.
- Orange Berlin. With a 2-megapixel camera, 3G functionality, a music player and Bluetooth support, the Berlin definitely packs a lot of bang for the buck. Its slider design offers great grip support and the call quality is surprisingly excellent for a pay-as-you-go phone. And at around £50, the price can’t be beat.
These three phones may not have all the whistles and bells that the new iPhone 5 has, but if you’re looking for an inexpensive phone with the occasional feature here and there, these are the ones to get.
